Management Team/Company Structure

Our director and management team are the core strength of the business.

Most are long term employees and between them they have a vast wealth of skills and experience within the painting and decorating industry.  This longevity and knowledge provides KSD with a stable platform.

Each office has a contracts manager and a contracts supervisor to oversee on site operations.  Where appropriate an on-site foreman will be placed on site.  All site staff have the appropriate qualifications for their role.

Administrative, commercial, estimating and health and safety matters are all dealt with at our head office, Ringwood.

Having started KSD Decorating in 1979, Kevin has been instrumental in growing the business from a sole trader to regional contractor.

After 40 years Kevin decided in 2019 that the time was right to step back from daily involvement in the business. He remains part of the business on a consultancy basis.

John joined KSD as a decorator in 1992 and has progressed through the management team becoming a supervisor in 1994, a manager in 1996 and a director in 2001. As a highly skilled tradesman he has been fundamental in ensuring that we always deliver a high quality end product.

Production Director

Steve graduated from the University of Bournemouth in 1995 and joined a major national contractor as a surveyor. He continued to progress through the company gaining valuable training and experience across a variety of sectors before deciding on a change of direction and joining KSD in 2001. In 2005 he was made a director. He has been instrumental in this period in setting up many of the commercial systems the company now has in place.

The workforce

As the frontline of our business our workforce are undoubtedly the key to us running our business in a successful manner. We take great care in the recruitment of our operatives to ensure that they have the necessary trade skills. We believe the development of all members of our staff is crucial and this starts from their first day of employment when they will undertake a detailed induction to the company. As well as ensuring that our workforce have the relevant CSCS qualifications we encourage those members who wish to pursue further personal development by gaining relevant NVQ and job specific qualifications.

Where required we use specialist trade sub-contractors from our approved list. We ensure these sub-contractors have the relevant skills and qualifications for the work they are to undertake and they are always CSCS approved.
