The conversion of this grade II* listed category C prison to an immigration removal center required the redecoration of 490 cells and associated communal service areas.
At the peak of the works we had 20+ men working on site. All men required clearing by the Ministry Of Justice before they could work on site.
The prison was closed when the initial works were undertaken, but as areas were completed they became live.
